Internal link checker: one page vs full site
Outbound internal links from a URL are fast to inspect. Inbound links and orphan pages require crawling more of your site.
Outbound internal vs external links from one URL — fast, no signup.
Inbound links, orphans, and depth — requires a multi-page crawl in the web app.
What the free single-page check shows
The free internal link checker analyzes one public URL and reports:
- How many links point to other pages on your domain vs external sites
- A sample of internal targets and anchor text
- Hints when sampled targets return errors
This answers: “What does this page link to?” It does not list every page that links to the URL you pasted.
How to find internal links to a page
- Small sites — run the free site crawl (up to 10 pages) from your homepage or key section roots and review the internal link graph in results.
- Larger sites — use a XenonFlare workspace crawl (thousands of URLs) to build a full internal link map, orphan detection, and depth metrics.
- High-value URLs — combine with Search Console: pages with impressions but weak internal links are often quick wins. See GSC + crawl correlation.
Orphans, depth, and internal link structure — available after a multi-page crawl in the workspace.
Quick comparison
| Question | Single-page tool | Multi-page crawl |
|---|---|---|
| Outbound internal links from one URL | Yes | Yes (every crawled URL) |
| Inbound links to a specific URL | No | Yes |
| Orphan pages (no internal inlinks) | No | Yes |
| Broken link sampling | Limited sample | Site-wide |
| Account required | No | No for 10-page free crawl; workspace for full site |
Suggested workflow
- Run the internal link checker on your money page or new landing page.
- Fix obvious broken outbound targets and weak anchor text on that template.
- Crawl the site (free 10-page or full workspace) to find pages that should link to the target.
- Rescan on a schedule to catch regressions after publishes or migrations.
