What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. XenonFlare uses a small number of cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to run the site securely.
Cookies we use
- Session cookie (`__session`) — an HTTP-only cookie set after you sign in with Google. It lets our servers recognize your authenticated session across page loads. It is required for account features such as submitting projects, upvoting, commenting, and managing your account.
- Provider cookies— Google Authentication may set its own cookies when you complete the sign-in popup, governed by Google's policies.
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party marketing trackers on xenonflare.com.
Why we use them
- Authenticate you and maintain a secure session
- Protect against unauthorized use of your account
- Enable core features that require being signed in
Duration
The XenonFlare session cookie lasts for a limited period (on the order of several days) and is cleared when you sign out. Exact lifetime may change as we improve security.
Your choices
- Sign out from Account to clear your XenonFlare session cookie
- Control cookies in your browser settings (blocking essential cookies will prevent sign-in)
- Manage Google account access and related cookies through Google
